Recall of the decisions taken by the Executive committee of the FIPJP about the quotas by confederation of the teams qualified for the Championship of the World in Marseilles of October 4, 2012.

Europe: 25 of which France (World champion)

Africa: 10

Asia: 7

Oceania: 3

America: 3

In December the federations received various necessary informations with the reservations (in enclosures). It is imperative to answer (l' before March 31, 2012; addresses following: pham@quarterback.fr) - Lastly, as decided at the time of the congress of the FIPJP, only the up to date federations of their contribution at May 31 will be able to take part in this Championship of the World.

A sad news
Death of Mr. Robert Pierre

The FIPJP you communicate with great sadness the death of Mr. Robert Pierre President of the Pan American Confederation of Petanque that has just passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2011. Robert suffered from cancer for several years, these days the rapid development of the disease had forced hospitalization. American, he has lived on the French Riviera this past year for reasons of health and near her two children. Know that we lost a good player and a true defender of the competition Petanque and many believed the development of our sport in America. Sincere condolences with all its family and her close relations. 

FPUSA remembers Robert Pierre, who passed away this week in France. Robert was a longtime member of FPUSA and served as our delegate to the FIPJP Congress at the 2008 World Championship in Dakar, Senegal. Robert also served as our International Events Coordinator for a number of years, arranging for US players to be hosted at various competitions abroad. Most recently he held the post of President of the Pan American Petanque Confederation's Executive Committee. On behalf of our members, FPUSA extends sympathy and well wishes to Robert's family.  Joe Martin - President FPUSA

15th Asian Championships
17 and 18 december

The weekend (17 and 18 December) took place on Asian Championship pool - see all the detailed results on http:// www.apsbc.net  . 

At the end of this competition which saw the victory of Cambodia, the Asian Confederation has announced the names of seven Asian nations qualified for the next World Championships to be held in Marseille from 4 to 7 October 2012. For example, Cambodia, China, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam join the table already very promising upcoming World Championships.

14th Asian Championship Cup 2010
Vientiane (Laos) du 5-8 December 2010

Dear Presidents of asian federations,

We would like to inform you that the 14th Asian Petanque Championship will be organized at Vientiane, Laos during 5-8 December 2010.

The organizing committee has informed that there will be 4 events which are: Men and Women Triple, and Men and Women Shooting, the members could entry the events by sending 1 teams per event.  The organizing committee will be responsible for the accommodations from Dinner 4th  to  breakfast 8th  December 2010 (11 meals) for 8 players and 2 delegates/country.  The transportation will be provided for all teams from airport to the hotel and to the venue in case that the teams inform in advance.  The official hotel is Sabaidee@lao.com Hotel, The package of 4 nights including 11 meals and transportation is 140 USD per person. All entry forms must be received before 25th November 2010 (download form).

I would like to take this opportunity to inform you about the annual meeting of the APSBC which will be held on the 4th  December 2010 follow by the manager meeting at 18.00 pm .  The venue of the meeting is Lao Plaza Hotel.

New World Champion and New World Record of shooting!
Izmir, Turkey

The first medal of the 45th World Championships 2010 was gained by France. Bruno Leboursicaud gained the World Championship of Shooting by beating the Polynesian Jean Manéa. In the eliminatory shootings, Charles "Claudy" Weibel (Belgium) beat the world records of shooting (officially validated by the FIPJP) with 66 points.

 The F.I.P.J.P. is proud to present to you our new website.
 
Now www.fipjp.com has a modern and dynamic design corresponding better with today´s pétanque. Our aim is to communicate with all those who are interested in our nice game with the help of modern technologies.The concept, design and development of the new website was realized in the Czech Republic in close cooperation with Karel Dohnal & Claude Stirmel & Jean Amiot.
 
On the website you find as usual:
  • all the general information about the life of F.I.P.J.P.
  • contacts to the members of the Executive Committee and all national federations
  • history of pétanque and F.I.P.J.P.
  • administration and sport documentation, statistics, practical links
  • results of all world championships including photos
  • new sections: „TOURNAMENTS IN THE WORLD“ and „OTHER INFORMATION“
 
1st news – „TOURNAMENTS IN THE WORLD“ – in this section you can add the tournaments you are planning and organising. This means of communication will allow to help all the players of pétanque to choose and put into the agenda their favourite tournaments. The subscription is realized on a base of login and keyword which you can get from the official representatives of the national federation. You can have more persons allowed to enter the tournament details but always it has to go through the national federation and to be confirmed by F.I.P.J.P.  The seriosity of the subscription of the tournament is guarranteed by each national federation.
 
All the tournaments will be classed so that the visitor of the websit will be able to filter according to his preferences (country, date, level, etc.). This will help him to choose the tournament adapted to his needs for example during his holiday visit to a foreign country.
 
2nd news – „OTHER INFORMATIONS“  – is a section which can be still modified easily. It will help us to communicate various events or subjects which will help you in your mission and also to promote pétanque in your country. In this section you´ll find different points which will be fulfilled by the commissions of F.I.P.J.P. to the federations of the whole world.
 
Example: now you can find here information from Victor Nataf about the education under the management of F.I.P.J.P. or all the information of the IT commission about the management of a tournament with the SWISS system. You can upload for free the last version of the software used on the World Championship of Juniors in Monastir (Tunisia).
 
In the section of the „NEWS“ you´ll be informed about all the important changes and updates
